About the Film

A short AI-assisted brand film built around two figures in a night-time setting, with a fashion and lifestyle tone.

What is in the frame

An outdoor venue at night. Two young men stand close together in frame, one in a patterned jacket, the other in velvet, both wearing fine gold chains. City lights and an orange awning sit behind them, all held out of focus as bokeh.

The light is warm and low, reaching the faces from the side. The camera is at portrait distance, with both faces at the centre of the frame.

The hard part

Carrying two faces in one frame is far harder than carrying one. The viewer compares them constantly, and if either looks more real than the other, both lose credibility. Skin tone, pore density and the angle at which light meets the face had to be built on the same logic for each.

Texture was the second problem. Patterned cloth and velvet hold light in completely different ways — the print flat and graphic, the velvet flaring and dying back with the direction of the pile. Side by side in one scene, each had to keep its own character.

Night bokeh needs care of its own. If the points of light behind the subjects do not grow in proportion with distance, the depth lies and the background reads as a wall.

Where we shoot, where we generate

Brand references were taken from real imagery; nothing on the identity side was left to free interpretation.

The principal shoot for work like this happens on set. Real closeness between two people, the moment a look turns to camera, the light a night actually has — those are caught inside the frame and cannot be produced to order.

Generation earns its place carrying that material into other scenes, other hours and other formats across a campaign.
