About the Film

A two-minute brand film for PAPEL. One of the pieces showing AI-assisted production also works in longer formats.

What is in the frame

Two men sit either side of a round black table in a glass-walled café. The one on the left, in a black leather jacket, is listening; the one on the right, in an olive blazer over a striped shirt, has a hand raised mid-sentence. Wet greenery and flat grey daylight fill the window behind them.

A brown leather card holder sits at the centre of the table, between two coffees. The product holds the middle of the frame, and nobody looks at it — it is simply there, inside the conversation.

The hard part

Two minutes is a long stretch to carry on two people talking. The listener has to behave as correctly as the speaker: blink rate, the slight tilt of the head, the moment a hand returns to the table. Let the listening figure go inert and the scene turns false at once.

Leather was the second problem. The jacket and the card holder are both leather, yet they behave nothing alike — one soft and creasing, the other rigid with hard edges. Two separate light behaviours had to be built under the same material name.

Then there is the glass. The window behind them transmits the outside and reflects the inside at the same time, and that reflection had to stay consistent across the frame without sliding as the figures moved.

Where we shoot, where we generate

The product was photographed for real. The grain of the leather, the spacing of the stitching, the colour of the edge paint and the way the cover takes shape as it opens all came from those frames. On a leather product those details are the brand itself; they are not open to interpretation.

Principal films with actors and dialogue are still shot on set. Real timing between two people, the small movement an actor makes while waiting for a line, the sound a location carries — none of that comes out of planning.

Generation earns its place carrying the same product material into other scenes, seasons and channels. Nobody books ten separate shoot days for ten variants of one campaign.

Where this is useful

We produce brand films, product pieces and digital content for leather goods, accessory and gifting brands. Two minutes is enough to place a product inside a story rather than in front of one.
